Some of My Favorites

I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite pictures of Griffin from before I started the blog. Enjoy!

A Fun Picture Game

Here are the rules:
1. Go to the 4th folder where you keep your pictures on your computer.
2. Post the 4th picture in the folder
3. Explain the photo.

This picture was taken after Easter last year (2008) and it was taken with the bunny from MawMaw and PawPaw ... we made a thank you card out of it. This picture is adorable ... my little boy at about 7 months old!!! Enjoy!

A Bad Day

So, a few weeks ago I made the mistake of saying that Griffin had been healthy through the winter ... and I even knocked on the counter. Well, our time has come. Griffin has been sick since Saturday and it has been less than fun. I'm just waiting for either my turn or Jimmy's turn with the virus from hell. Pray for us America, pray for us ... take care!

Right Before My Eyes

Today, we to the Y for Carter's basketball game and after playing in the playroom, we decided to drop Griffin off in the Childwatch. For a second, I stood there waiting for the breakdown - the big crying fit that I thought might follow ... much to my surprise (and a little disappointment), there was nothing other than Griff running away to play with the other kids.

Griffin has always been social - he loves to play and he always jumps right in to do whatever the others are doing. The first day back from my maternity leave, I was really worried about whether or not Griffin would fit in and if he would be able to make friends. Little did I know that my little boy would become a social butterfly! He plays nicely with the boy and girls at the sitters, he is always interested in what other kids are doing when we're out, and he waves and flirts with most who comes into his path.

So, I guess my little boy is heading for a life of fun with all the friends he can make ... let's just hope there will be a little time left for mommy! Enjoy!

Just Because ...

Just because I needed to see a picture of my oh-so-sweet baby's smile since the whiny-temper-tantrum-throwing little boy has shown his little head ... and I thought the worst was over for a least a little while. He's still so cute even in the harder-than-usual times!

Sorry for the Long Wait

Okay, so last week I said that it had been a busy week and I didn't have time to blog ... well, almost 8 days later and no blogging I would have to use that same excuse again! Things have been crazy and the times that it's not crazy, all I want to do is veg out and relax.

As promised, here are some pictures of our uneventful (thank God) trip to the emergency room last week. No stitches, no medicine ... just, I can only imagine, a pretty expensive Popsicle and a delayed bedtime.
Last weekend, Griffin and I, plus 6 other women/girls went wedding dress shopping for Megan. It was fun, Megan looked so pretty and she found a really beautiful dress, but Kallyn and Emmi almost stole the show by trying on "gowns" as Kalli called them.

This weekend was pretty mellow. Jimmy and I went out to dinner (we're not into the V-Day celebration, so it was just dinner) on Friday night ... back to A-1 my personal favorite place to eat! Yesterday, we took Griffin to get some 18 month pictures taken and went to visit Andrea and the boys while Jimmy played cards.

We're all doing well here ... just feeling the itch for spring to come around so we can go outside and hang out in the sun. Enjoy!

But I Have A Really Good Excuse ...

So, things have been a little hectic lately and I just want you to know that it is all my fault. Now that is something that I rarely ever say. Every single night this week, I had something going on ... that is why I haven't blogged in nearly a week. I seem to schedule all major events within the same week at least once a month. I wish I could break the habit, but I just can't stop myself!

Adding to my busy calendar was a few Griffin episodes. About 2 weeks ago our school secretary asked me how Griffin was and whether or not he had been sick. Of course, I said "No, we've been lucky that it's missed us." I mean, I even knocked on the wooden table and everything, but this week my words came back to haunt me. We had a little emergency room trip and another trip to our pediatrician's office (plus another checkup on Monday).

Anyways, I'll post some pictures from our ER trip soon and try to get back on a normal blogging schedule. Enjoy!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

There have been A LOT of changes that have gone on in my life over the past 2 years, but one of the most noticeable is ... you thought I was going to say the difference in my body, huh?! NO, it's my lack of shopping prowess.

I used to be an amazing shopper (thank you for the applause). I could shop for hours and get the best bargains after browsing through countless racks. I prided myself on finding unique pieces that weren't popular yet.

However, when I go shopping now ... it's sad really, I leave the stores EMPTY-HANDED. Have you ever heard of such a thing from the fashionista that was once Erin?! I have barely bought myself anything in the past 1 1/2; I'm usually shopping for size 2T which is far from what I wear.

Last night, Jimmy and I had a date night and we went out to dinner (A1 Japan Steakhouse is AWESOME ... get the lobster rolls!) and then over to Kohl's for some shopping. 20 minutes later, we left with nothing ... nothing ... no-thing!

Now, this lack of shopping for myself does have an upside ... there has been some money saved. Plus, I love buying things for Griffin; maybe he'll inherit my sense of style :) I figure over the long run, I have probably spent enough money on myself, so guess it is time to spread the wealth ... literally and figuratively.
